Throwback Thursday....
This was a pic of one of our first boxes. We used to deliver to the Atmore area and we started with ten families. We used clear plastic boxes and everyone traded us for the full one when we delivered. What fun memories! We still have one or two charter members still with us. We no longer deliver to Atmore, but our now in Pensacola. It just happened that there was more interest there.
We are coming up on our fifth year of the CSA. We had no idea what a CSA was, much less how to run one, but we have learned a lot over the years and our members have helped us and other farmers from cities where CSAs are very common have helped us. We have enjoyed it tremendously! We are looking forward to another wonderful harvest, now in our 3rd week of the Spring boxes.
The hard freeze has not harmed any of our heirloom tomatoes. This year we have Abe Lincoln, Cherokee Purple and Boxcar Willie among others planted. When it is cold it is nice to think about summer veggies.
Have a good week!
