Seedling season...

Yep, we are embarking on a new venture on our farm. We are selling potted plants and seedlings this year.  This goes along with our infant flower farm.  We really want to be able to grow and try more of the thousands of varieties we see in the seed catalogs.  No, the main box store and even local nurseries don't carry everything.  Actually, that is unrealistic.  They have to make money and odd varieties that people don't recognize may not be tangible for their customers.  However, our members love variety and they love that niche of nouveau foods (new to them, not to history or the world). Therefore we are hopeful that we will be successful in this endeavor.

How did we lose so many varieties in the stores, you ask?  Well, when things don't sell, then they don't carry them.  We seem to have become a monoculture society because of the need for shipping.  We ship our food around the world.  There are so many tastes and varieties to try.

So, we embark on this seedling extravaganza...

Until next time...
