Apples in the south
Our apples did not freeze like the peaches did after the second hard freeze. A few fell off, however, these lovelies look promising.
Did you know you could grow apples in the south? Apples from the store are considerably different looking. Most are hybridized to travel and are picked early. Apples veritably never grow to the same size and shape on a tree. They are all unique and different. I have hear that ugly fruit tastes better. I think perhaps it is because ugly or imperfect fruit is usually heirloom fruit which was bred for it's taste rather than it's marketability.
