Not really way back Wednesday, but...

This was our large garden back in 2011.  We had decided that we would do some market gardening.  As a homeschooling momma, I was always looking for some sort of side income.  You know, the kind Dave Ramsey calls a "side hustle".  I would tutor kiddos, I taught a one roomed schoolhouse on a local farm, make bread, jelly, substitute teach.  However, farming was what we both wanted to do.  It was just so time prohibitive for the mister with his 60+ hour workweek.  So, we did it on the weekends. We had three boys with a strong work ethic and we set out to be farmers.  The goal was to retire and keep homesteading and farm to support that dream.  It seems to be working.  The white fences are not white anymore and since we have fenced the chicken pastures in the back, we don't need them because they roam those fields instead.  We have a high tunnel now that holds our tomatoes, cucumbers and anything else we want to overwinter.  The garden, like life, is always evolving, isn't it?

Until next time....
