Jalapenos are heat loving, no water needing to speak of kind of plants.  They love this drought type weather.  They keep producing by leaps and bounds.  The ideas for cooking them are abundant, especially now with pinterest.  Jalapeno poppers, making vinegar, adding to any asian or mexican dish, pickling them, quiche, corn cakes, and "bottle caps".  They all look good.  That's the thing about cooking or eating with a seasonal produce mindset, you get creative, don't get in a rut (usually) and find things you never thought you would like.  It's an adventure every day.  Adventure is out there!  :)
